The Big Wall:
As a whole Taroudant city walls
are 7,5 km
long one. The wall is punctuated by 130
turns and 19 angle bastions and is equally pierced by five harbors « gates »
the five gates are : Bab al kasbah, Bab Zorgan, Bab Targhount, Bab Oulad
Bounouna and Bab El khemis.
All these gates are cubits and
testify of their defensive character.
The more important one by its dimensions and by its position is the gate :
" bab al kasbah"; it is located on the eastern flank to some tens of
meters of the Kasbah. This is a door
bastionned , flanked by two massive towers
Side south, the city is served by
the door said "Bab Zorgane".
This door as well as the one said "Bab el Khemis" and
"Bab Oulad Bounouna" are all cubits and possess a hall
Bab Zorgane and Bab Sensla are
dominated by towers and by a round way around each one.
Of more reduced dimensions than
the preceding ones," Bab Targhount" has on the other hand a hall
covered.
The Kasbah
: The Kasbah
occupies the north eastern part of Taroudant.
She is outfitted with square towers of more reduced dimensions than the one of the
big wall, This Kasbah carries the tracks of remaniements that indicate the peripeties
that lived in the city.
